This Autumn Term South Milford Community Primary School has been visited by Helen Butters from Yorkshire Rows.
Yorkshire Rows are a team of four women rowers, who will be taking on the staggering challenging of rowing the Atlantic later this year. Helen shared with the children her World Record breaking experience of being the first women to row across the North Sea from Suffolk to Holland earlier this year.
In December, Yorkshire Rows will be setting off on a herculean challenge to row three thousand nautical miles across the Atlantic ocean, in one of the toughest races on earth. They are doing this to raise money for two charities, The Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centre. The school has also chosen to support these two charities through fundraising events.
The children will be following the Yorkshire Rows on their intrepid voyage, with the team promising to return to the school to share their experiences on their safe return.
