Tadcaster East Community Primary School is delighted to be the first school in North Yorkshire to become an Ambassador School for Leeds Rhinos Rugby Club.
Students at the school have benefited from high level coaching and a well-attended after school club throughout this Spring Term. In particular, Wednesday 16th March was Rhino’s Takeover Day, where the children enjoyed a day of sports – including rugby training of course – but where the highlight was definitely the Celebration Assembly.
Sports coach Emma told the children all about the teamwork that the Rhino’s demonstrated throughout the season, and showed highlights of the key games that had ensured their best season ever! The children were in awe of the trophies she brought and had a fabulous time meeting Ronnie the Rhino.
The celebrations continued, as on Friday 18 March over 70 children and their parents attended the Rhino’s game and were delighted to be part of a special half time pitch parade.
It’s always fantastic to see local community teams support and encourage participation in sport at a school level, and this will hopefully be the start of a great relationship between Tad East and the team. We look forward to welcoming them back for another Celebration Assembly soon.
