Students spent the day learning about the world of insects, looking at flies and their anatomy, habitats, life cycles, food chains, and the many threats they face in staying alive – including from man! The class got involved in lots of hands-on activities such as Spot the Insect, Minibeast Bingo and even making their very own paper housefly.

And the prize for best costume goes to…

They were led from the front by class leader and project author Mike Barfield, who really got into the spirit of things with his funky fly costume!

The next Able Science programme will take place in June and will focus on evolution, with other Able Writers and Able Maths sessions also available. Please contact for more information.
