Pupils from STAR Alliance primary schools gathered at Riverside School during November 2015 for their first ever ‘Able Scientist’ workshop day.

The day was centred around learning all about space exploration and the habitats of planets beyond earth. Pupils had the opportunity to make prototype robotic arms from paper, just like those used to retrieve satellites in space where it is too dangerous to use human labour.

Some 30 pupils from 7 schools joined facilitator Russell Bark for the day with a whole range of activities – pupils even dressed into NASA spacesuits to experience a multimedia rocket launch!
