The first Science Network open to all STAR Alliance schools will be hosted by Lynsay Mackay at Tadcaster Grammar School, on Friday 13th January (apparently scientists aren’t superstitious) between 9am – 12 pm.
The aim of our forum is to give teachers time to discuss science and the new curriculum. So that you can share good practice and identify any areas for developing science teaching.
At the first meeting we will be showcasing some really fun and engaging teaching methods will be showcased to support:
Delivery of inheritance and evolution
Modelling Electricity and some practical approaches
This is a chance to try out some hands on interactive activities to take away and use in your classrooms.
This Network is open to teachers in STAR Teaching School Alliance member schools. Please contact BusinessManager@STARteachingschoolalliance.org to confirm the names of anyone wishing to attend the network.
It was agreed at the Strategic Headteacher meeting that this network would be useful and that costs of any staff cover would be met by individual member schools.
