School to School Support from the STAR Teaching School Alliance

The STAR Teaching School Alliance is committed to helping provide the best possible education and outcomes for all children aged 0 -19 across our area.

We can deploy NLEs, SLEs, or Leading Practitioners (experienced & highly skilled Headteachers, teachers, teaching assistants and governors) to work alongside schools seeking to improve outcomes for their children.

All staff engaged in improvement activity are experienced in their field and are able to share their knowledge, coach and develop others in their role.

School to School Support can be deployed where schools request it themselves, where the Local Authority has agreed an improvement plan, or where the Improvement Partnerships have identified a need. They may be deployed in many different contexts:

  • support a newly appointed Headteacher (click here to see our New to Headteaching Support Package)
  • be a reviewer where schools have entered into a Peer Review
  • provide appropriate encouragement, challenge and support to a Headteacher who needs it
  • support newly designated subject leads
  • work alongside existing staff to identify and support implementation of improvements
  • share specialist knowledge and experience

All our work is underpinned by a support agreement to ensure expectations are clear and to ennable the quality of our support to be assured. Click here to see our current model agreement
